"I.T.'s Here!" UCM IT continues the conversation at the IT Town Hall
On Tuesday October 14th members of the campus community joined IT staff in the Lakireddy Auditorium for the inaugural IT Town Hall meeting . An interactive session designed by IT management to maximize participant involvement, the Town Hall included selected topics of interest from the results of the IT listening tour and updates on IT 2.0 progress, projects, and plans.
Associate Vice Chancellor and CIO Rich Kogut kicked off the event, welcoming the attendees and providing an update on campus IT governance committees. Student Services Manager Todd Van Zandt led the discussion on findings and updates from the Listening Tour and IT staff fielded questions on a variety of topics such as cell phone billing and acquisition, interdepartmental cooperation, support for Apple computers, graduate student services, and email and storage upgrades. Finally, Web Services Manager Faust Gorham described the array of current and future Information Technology projects. IT Staff received valuable input and advice from the participants, including recommendations for future Town Hall sessions and information updates. We thank everyone for their participation!
There was far more information then could easily be shared during the Town Hall session, but we have made available here the full presentations for each section of the agenda to view, download, and share. We hope you take the opportunity to review the presentations and let us know what you think--we need to hear from you!
Updates to questions and outstanding issues will be made on this page, so be sure to check back!
